Our words expose our faith or lack of faith every day.

The disciples were in the boat with Jesus, but they forgot He was there. They must have. They saw the storm, heard and felt the rain and grew afraid. Their eyes were on the storm. Their faith was in the storm. They knew what the storm could do, and they believed it was coming to kill them. They remembered Jesus and woke him up.

Jesus rebuked the wind and the waves, and they obeyed. He rebuked the disciples as well.

When words come out of your mouth that uncover and expose your fear and worry, recognize them and remember who is in your boat. Believe Jesus cares for you today. Believe he wants to rescue you. Your worry is your lack of faith in the fact that He cares and wants to save you.

Luke 8: 22-25‬

“One day he got into a boat with his disciples and said to them, “Let us cross to the other side of the lake.” So they set sail, 23 and while they were sailing, he fell asleep. A squall blew over the lake, and they were taking in water and were in danger. 24 They came and woke him saying, “Master, master, we are perishing!” He awakened, rebuked the wind and the waves, and they subsided and there was a calm. 25 Then he asked them, “Where is your faith?” But they were filled with awe and amazed and said to one another, “Who then is this, who commands even the winds and the sea, and they obey him?””

How many times do we say…

“I am dying, I am getting sick, I am not going to make it, or I can’t go on.” What if we believe in our prayers. What if we really believe God hears and cares. We might say instead, “I trust Jesus is healing me, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, God is my provider, and he cares for me, I will live and not die and declare the works of the Lord.

The Bible says that if God would give us his son, what won’t he do for us.

If God gave us Jesus, he would provide us with anything.

Romans 8:32

“He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all–how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”

Is God’s word true?

Who is he talking to? He is talking to YOU and me and all who will put their trust in him.

Matthew 7:11

“If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to those who ask him.”
