How do we remain ‘IN CHRIST?’

How do we know when we aren’t ‘IN CHRIST?’ Are we always ‘IN CHRIST?’

When you make a decision for Christ you are ‘In Christ’ when you feel like it and when you don’t. This is the truth. When you declare your love for him, you are re-affirming your Baptismal promise. It is now who you are. You are a new creation, born of the Spirit and a temple of God. You are this way when you sin and when you don’t.

You don’t just fall out of Christ, you make a decision to leave Christ. You would have to reject him and dishonor his name.

Yet even though we remain in Christ, we don’t always walk ‘IN HIM.’

We have the choice to walk ‘in the flesh’ or walk ‘in the Spirit.’ We have the power. Christ has not left us orphans, but has given us power from on high. Power to walk in the spirit, power to turn back to God. This is the Spirit of the one true God living inside of us.

WE HAVE TO HAVE ears though to hear and keep them tuned in.

We have to have eyes to see and keep them on Jesus or we will be swept under the waves. Our feelings are given to us to help us know when we are off course and living in our flesh. This is such a revelation to me regarding our feelings. Our feelings are a gift. They let us know when we need to swim back to shore. They let us know when we have unplugged from the source of power and begun walking on our own. Our feelings tell us “Run back to the TOWER, the boat, and find your anchor!!!! Our feelings warn us of danger.

Because we are IN CHRIST. You are IN CHRIST.

You wouldn’t be reading this if you weren’t. Rest assured you are hidden in Christ. He is your fortress. If not get there now. Renew your baptismal promises. Renew your First Communion when you first gave yourself to Christ.

This is what CRHP Christ Renews His Parish is all about…. Renewing our love for Him and declaring him as our Lord….. Declaring and choosing Christ for ourselves. At Baptism, our parents claimed us for Christ but at some point in our lives we must do this for ourselves.

If you have made a decision to live for Christ, you are ‘IN CHRIST’.

If you are not perfect yet, join the crowd. If you have not surrendered wholly, join the crowd. No one has. No one has surrendered wholly to Christ. It is a process. Be patient.  He does the work in us.

2 Corinthians 4:16

“Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day.”

DID YOU KNOW that you being in Christ is all his doing. We can’t get there on our own or else we would have something to boast about. But we can’t even boast about being HIS, even that is his doing.

1 Corinthians 1:30

“It is due to him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, as well as righteousness, sanctification, and redemption, 31 so that, as it is written, ‘Whoever boasts, should boast in the Lord.’”

Romans 8:9-11‬

“But you are not in the flesh; on the contrary, you are in the spirit, if only the Spirit of God dwells in you. Whoever does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the spirit is alive because of righteousness. If the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also, through his Spirit that dwells in you.”

  • DECLARE “I am in the SPIRIT; I am walking in the spirit and God dwells in me. I belong to Christ.”
  • BE PATIENT HE IS DOING A MARVELOUS work in you and you are remaining on the vine.

“Dear Jesus, I believe you are the son of God and I believe you came to earth to die for me and to cleanse me of all my sins, guilt and shame and rose from the dead to bring me new life. You did this for me and you want me with you right now. Here I am Lord, I want to belong to you from now on.  Forgive me and free me from all darkness and evil, heal me and transform me into your disciple. Thank you for loving me just the way I am. Because of you I can now say with confidence “I am forgiven;  I am in Christ; and I am brand new. Amen.”

Today I surrender to You, Lord Jesus. I surrender to You because I trust You. I surrender all to You, my health, my family, my finances, my work, my relationships, my successes, and failures. I release it all to You. I surrender to You, Lord, my fears, my insecurities, the past, the present, and the future. I belong to You.

Father, I ask for outpouring of the Holy Spirit and for his power and strength in my life. I ask for the power to get up on fire for you every morning. I ask for the power and strength to follow after Jesus and remain in Christ Jesus my Lord, with my eyes and heart fixed on him.  I pray for the power and desire to read and study your word. I ask for wisdom and revelation knowledge of who you are Lord, and for the enlightenment that comes from knowing you. I want to know the hope you have for me and the church body and I want to know the power that is available to me to be the child of God and witness you have called me to be.  Fill me Lord to overflowing that I may walk boldly in your presence every day. Take me deeper and higher than I ever dreamed possible.
