If you think of yourself as impatient, sinful, lazy, sick, tired, or worthless, you are regarding yourself according to the flesh. You are evaluating yourself from a human point of view. So start declaring who you are according to the Spirit and know that this is the real you…..
How can we declare we are patient if we are, in fact, impatient? How can I declare that my husband is loving, when, in fact, he is not? WHY should I? How can I say “my son is wise” when he makes bad choices? If you have trouble making declarations about yourself or your loved ones, you are not alone.
I am about to show you something amazing, and this truth will rock your world. Declaring is so important because we start to believe the truth about ourselves or our family members instead of just what we see in this physical realm. Declare it as an act of FAITH; faith that God heard your prayer and is doing a work in you or your loved one.
THIS IS THE TRUTH about who you are “IN CHRIST.”
Declare it knowing it is the truth. How do we know this is the truth about ourselves? How can we be sure we aren’t lying to ourselves? Keep reading.
If you are “IN CHRIST,” you are no longer the old you!
You have a new nature, not your old sinful nature, but a brand new one. Jesus gave us a new nature. Where is this new nature hiding? It is your Spirit nature. You are not just a physical being you are both ‘physical and spiritual’ because NOW you are “In Christ.” In Christ we are born spiritually. You have what it takes to become the new you because you have chosen to be part of HIS KINGDOM. It doesn’t come without benefits.
We need to declare our new nature as if it really is our NEW NATURE.
We can’t keep reinforcing our old nature with our words and thoughts. DECLARE WHO YOU ARE. THE REAL YOU.
This passage says that we have to stop evaluating others from a human point of view. The same goes for you. Stop evaluating “you” from a human point of view. Another version says, “regard no one according to the flesh;” Do not regard yourself according to the flesh. Quit seeing yourself in the flesh.
If you think of yourself as impatient, sinful, lazy, sick, tired, worthless, you are regarding yourself according to the flesh.
You are evaluating yourself from a human point of view. SOOOO…. start declaring who you are according to the Spirit and know that this is the real you, the truth about who you are because you are now IN CHRIST. Who knows, you just may become the person you are declaring you are. You may be transformed by your very own words. Faith comes from hearing. HEARING BRINGS FAITH.
God changed Abram’s name from Abram ( lofty FATHER ) to Abraham ( FATHER OF MANY NATIONS) because God wanted Abraham to hear GOD’s Promise every time someone said his name.
Faith is very important.
Faith is what makes us brand new in the first place. If faith is required to become a new creation in Christ than it is also required to live it as well. So declare it by faith. If you keep hearing you are patient you may start to believe it and act it.
DECLARE: ‘I am a new creation; I am patient.’
I can say ‘I AM PATIENT’ because that is my new nature. I may not be ‘ACTING’ patient, but I will declare that this is my new nature by faith.
I will not dishonor Christ by declaring anything less. He became sin that I may become the righteousness of God; therefore, I will declare “I am righteous for his sake” whether I feel or act righteously or not.
He died to make me righteous (right with God).
That is what his death did for me and at Mass Jesus says to us over and “For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the death of the Lord until he comes.” PROCLAIM what his death did for you.
Because HE lives in you – Patience lives in you and therefore You are patient. This is who you are, it may not be how you act, but it is who you are if you are in Christ.
- DECLARE “I am in the SPIRIT; I am walking in the Spirit, and God dwells in me. I belong to Christ.”
- BE PATIENT HE IS DOING A MARVELOUS work in you, and you are remaining on the vine.
- WHILE BRUSHING YOUR TEETH say, “I have ears to hear, I belong to Christ, I am following the Holy Spirit.”
- WHEN PUTTING ON CLOTHES say, “I am forgiven, I am a saint, I am holy, righteous and true.”
- WHEN LOADING THE CAR OR THE DISHWASHER think “I am patient and kind. I am thoughtful and strong in the Lord. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
