Healing is Yours by Faith
Take what is yours. Healing is ours, but we must take hold of it and receive it. The Holy Spirit woke me this morning, teaching me to take healing. I believe God wants us to quit waiting for Him to heal us. Healing is ours for the taking because God is not withholding it. We need to reach out and grab hold of the healing power of the Holy Spirit. We do this with our faith. We reach out and take hold by faith.
The woman with the issue of blood reached out and drew upon the healing power of God by her faith as she determined to touch the hem of his garment.
Jesus’ encounter with the bleeding woman is found in Matthew 9:20–22, Mark 5:24–34, and Luke 8:42–48.
When she touched Jesus’ robe, he felt power leave Him. The bible says, “Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from him, so he turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my robe?” Mark 5:30 NLT
He didn’t send power; she drew on his power with her faith. Jesus said, “Daughter, your faith has made you well.”
You have that power living in you. God is waiting for you to reach out and grab ahold of this power with your faith. We release the power in us with our faith. God is waiting for us to reach out and touch someone else with our faith and say, “Be healed. Jesus Christ heals you.” Jesus sent us to heal the sick for him. He wants us to do it in his name. He wants us to act like him and do what he did and more importantly do what he leads us to do. He wants to heal the sick, and he does it through us. We are his hands and feet. Jesus said in John 14:12, “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.” John 14:12 NLT
Jesus wouldn’t command us believers to go and lay hands on the sick if he didn’t want the sick well. Jesus wants us to heal the sick not only for their sake but for his sake. He wouldn’t give us the power to heal if he didn’t want us to heal. Jesus wouldn’t give us the power to heal if he didn’t want us well.
We need to have faith. Faith that says Jesus lives in me, healing lives in me, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in me, I am healed by the power and will of God, and I receive it. Healing is mine to take because Jesus took my infirmities and bore my diseases. He did it so we could be healed and remain.
Take What is Yours
Andrew Wommack tells the story of a time when a speaker came to his church to speak with his youth group. All the kids gathered together that day to hear him teach about God. He took a twenty dollar bill out of his pocket and said, whoever wants this bill, come and get it. A bunch of kids raced up to the front while the 8-year-old Andrew Wommack was seated in the back row because they entered the sanctuary alphabetically.
I remember him telling this story and reminiscing about how he was forced to sit in the front row for every service, and the one time he had this kind of opportunity, he was on the last row.
The man continues to hold up the bill, however, saying, “Whoever wants this come and get it.” The kids were lined up in front of him, watching and waiting. Finally, Andrew lights up and knows what the man expects.
He gets up off his seat and runs down the main aisle to the front, passing all the kids right up to the man. Not wasting a moment, he grabs the man’s arm, pulls it down, and, reaching forward, grabs the bill out of his hand.
God wants us to come and get it. Come and take what is yours.
Receive all God’s blessings and promises. God is handing out healing, so we need to take it.
Take hold of healing, not the disease.
We have taken hold of the disease. We have put our faith in the power of sickness and disease to kill and destroy. We have let it in and received it. We start taking care of it, medicating it, and treating ourselves like sick people. We start to refer to ourselves as depressed, arthritic, or ADD. We refer to an illness as ours calling it, my cancer, or my anxiety. We take ownership of it and say, “I have diabetes, or I have high blood pressure.
Don’t Plan to Live with It; Plan to Get Rid of It.
I am not telling you to act as if you don’t have the disease. I am not saying you are to lie to yourself. I am saying don’t plan to live with it; plan to get rid of it.
Don’t say my diabetes; say instead, diabetes is attacking my body, and I am receiving Jesus’ healing.
Don’t say, I have high blood pressure; say instead, my blood pressure is high, but I am trusting Jesus for healing. I am healed. By his stripes, I am healed. My blood pressure is coming back to normal in the name of Jesus.
Sickness starts to become the center of our lives; it wants us to be consumed with it and think about it all the time. It wants us to go from one doctor’s appointment to another and take one pill after another.
Don’t let the Enemy Steal what is Yours
Don’t let the enemy steal what is yours or talk you out of what is yours.
Don’t let the enemy put sickness on you. Don’t receive it, and don’t open the door to sickness. If you have, rebuke it and take back the healing that Jesus gave you. It is a gift. Your gift. Your gift to open up and receive.
Receive and take it with your words.
Let’s do it now.
What is it you want from God? Have you let him know what you want from him? The woman with the issue of blood did. She said it with her words. “For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” Mark 5:28 NLT
Be bold, be brave. He wants to give it to you more than you want it. Obviously, if you are still afraid to ask for it (specifically), you must not want it that badly. If you aren’t willing to take it from God’s hand like the woman with the issue of blood, you must not want it bad enough. God is reaching out to you and offering it to you. He did this when he sent Jesus to take from you all infirmities, sickness, and disease.
You still need to be persuaded it’s yours. You are not yet fully convinced. You belong to Christ, don’t you? You are part of the covenant God made through Christ.
Healing is part of what the covenant brings us. It is part of the covenant. It is our covenant right. Healing is part of the covenant blessings.
Jesus told the Canaanite woman you are not part of the covenant. Jesus shows us the difference the covenant makes: you are in or out based on your decision. Not God’s
He already chose you. He made a covenant with you that is binding. He bound himself to this covenant. He is all in and won’t ever change his mind. Can’t change his mind. Jesus’ death and resurrection made it permanent.
He chose the world. He died for the sins of the whole world. Everyone’s sins have been paid for. His blood covered it all. But who will come and receive? Quit waiting on God to come and deliver. He already has. He is waiting on us to receive.
I am yours
I give my life and my health to you.
I received your love and gifts.
I am reaching out and taking what is mine. Your healing power is in me and rising up in me to heal me and deliver me from every germ and infection and disease!!!
I am reaching out and touching healing. I am reaching out and touching goodness. I am reaching out and grabbing hold of your healing love, and it is flowing through me now. I believe in your power more than the power of sickness and disease. I believe the hold sickness has over me is broken. By his stripes, I am healed. By his love, I am healed. By his gift to me, I am healed.
I don’t deserve it, but I receive not what I deserve but the mercy and grace Jesus won for me at the cross.
We are not on the outside looking in. We are on the inside. We are in Christ. What is his is ours. What he paid for is ours. He purchased freedom for us. You don’t believe it enough to take it and keep it.
